We closed the payroll loop. Chegatta now produces the exact files your accountant, bank and digital accounts platform need — and on 9 September 2026 we proved it with a real posting: a payroll run imported into Xero Manual Journals and posted green, balanced to the cent with no manual keystrokes.
One payroll run, one journal, posted and balanced:
Total 1,188.00 debit / 1,188.00 credit — posted in Xero on 9 September 2026 with no balance warning. The full itemised journal walked payroll cost, employer social security, IRS withholding, employee social security and net pay from the PT SNC chart straight into the books.
What we actually posted
The journal below is the real, approved August 2026 calculation. One line per GL destination per employee, all from Chegatta's double-entry engine — no one typed a single number.

Why this matters
No more manual journal keying
Payroll cost, employer social security, IRS withholding, employee social security and net pay are produced as a single balanced journal per run — ready to post, not to retype.
Zero transposition errors
The file only uses account codes from the PT SNC chart (62311, 62352, 24322, 24341, 12). If a client uses a different numbering, one config change remaps the whole export.
Auditor-ready trail
Every line ties back to the approved salary run, and the totals must reconcile to zero before Xero will even accept them. No surprises in the ledger.
How it works
- 1Approve the salary run
Overtime, breaks and statutory premiums are already calculated. You review and approve — inside Chegatta.
- 2Export the journal in one click
Chegatta generates the Xero Manual Journals CSV (or the generic double-entry file for your own accountant).
- 3Import into Xero
Xero validates every account code and verifies the journal balances.
- 4Post
One click. The run is now in your books, balanced to the cent.
The SEPA side of the loop
The same approved run also produces a SEPA pain.001.001.03 bank file. We validated our export against the structure published by Millennium bcp and the EPC guidelines — group header, batch booking, SLEV charge bearer, two decimal amounts and the correct IBAN/NIF blocks. Net pay transfers and the accounting journal come from the same source of truth, so what you pay is what you post.
Coming up
- Region-specific no-tax labels ("No VAT" for PT/UK orgs, "No GST" for AU/NZ) so the journal config matches each territory's Xero setup.
- Direct posting via the Xero API, so you won't even need the CSV step.
- Client-specific chart-of-accounts remapping per business.
The accounting integration checkpoint is closed. If you run payroll on Chegatta today, your accountant can stop re-keying journals from Monday.
